Loozend v0.10

Loozend pre-release Version v0.10 is an operative version of the PC-Client and Server sides, with limited features on the recovery side, and some limitations on the client side. This is a self-installing version; hence it just requires to download and execute a small program. You will be identified by your email, and have to provide us a password that will grant you access to your disk in Loozend. The intent at disseminating the current v0.10 version is a limited distribution of around 300 units, with the following objectives: i) Checking the operation of the PC-Client side within not controlled environments, with different versions of Windows, environmental software, and a range of disk sizes, disk usages, and data inflows. ii) Checking the operation of the Server side under a range of data inflow: bursty multimedia, steady multimedia, and document management environments

Loozend target v0.10 Testers

Loozend is targeting 300 Public Alpha Testers who are willing to help develop our product by testing it in an active way. Ideally, the PCs testing v0.10 should be running Windows 7.X or later, with one or more internal hard disks, whose usage doesn’t total much over 250GB of own information, including all of the Windows users on your PC, and so, excluding operating system and other pieces of software (which will also be protected by v0.10, anyway). Public Alpha Testers should be ready to report any abnormal functioning, and allow Loozend technicians to take remote control of the PC, under your supervision, to allow for analysis. These analyses may take as short as 2 minutes, but in some cases, they could extend over a much longer period of time, maybe of several hours in extreme cases. The Tester should allow Loozend to install v0.10, and a remote console software. We will not review the content of your files, at all, unless agreed with you.

Loozend v0.10 Tester mutual expectations

Loozend is not at this stage providing a service, by any means, but performing a test. So you should not expect a (nearly) perfect performance, either functionally, or aesthetically. You may not be able to recover any lost information, even if it is stored on our servers. We don’t provide any warranties as to the suitability of this software for any particular use. We don’t expect that you risk losing any information due to our malfunctioning, although you may experience some delays, overuse of your computer and network resources, or in the worst cases, blue screens (extremely unlikely). We commit to do our best to rearrange your PC so that you can continue using it normally, in an event that our malfunctioning may affect it. In any case, we recommend you to perform a backup of your complete disk before starting this test, and regularly, with the help of our technicians in case you require it. Some of our personnel may have access to your directory and files, but we will not review the content of your files, unless previously agreed with you. We take confidentiality very seriously, and is a key aspect of our service. From time to time we may need to update the application on your PC, for which we may do it remotely, maybe with your assistance. Loozend is not compensating economically your effort, beyond the fact that we would provide you Beta and commercial versions of our service for free for several months, within reasonable terms. The Public Alpha Tester is not meant to make copies of the software, to make it available to any different person, to discuss any features with our competitors, and we consider both the software and any information exchanged as confidential between you and us. During this test we expect you to use your PC normally, in the same way you would use it if you were not testing Loozend. If during operation you detect abnormalities, delays, blue screens or you don’t understand what is happening or what we are showing, please send us an email to support@loozend.com, or if it is urgent you can call us on +34911995198 (remember that we are not in shifts, Central European Time, nor 24/7, so please call us with moderation). We would appreciate that you get in touch with us from time to time, and simulate having lost some information, so that we can try to “recover” it together with you. We would love to do this every other week of test, when it makes sense to you. Send us an email with your availability, when in the mood. Current test should not take longer that a handful of weeks, maybe 3 to 5. At the end of it we will request you to fill a small test report, and maybe have a remote or personal interview with us. This is of the outmost importance to us, since we will get your subjective input, so that we can improve for v1.0.During this test we expect you to use your PC normally, in the same way you would use it if you were not testing Loozend.
